Colin Moore is a truck sales executive at Greenhous Commercials in Shrewsbury and he and some friends decided to raise some money for the Severn Hospice. However, their charitable challenge proved quite strenuous as they entered the Dragon Boat Festival on the River Severn in the summer.

Colin explains the reason for supporting Severn Hospice saying: “One of my friends Cathy lost her Mum, Gaynor, to cancer and she was in Severn Hospice at the end of her life. It is a wonderful place with such caring staff so myself and friends decided to enter the Dragon Boat Race and raise money for the Hospice.

“We named our team Gaynor’s Oar’s Men and Tom Bennett, the grandson of Gaynor Perry, was on the boat too. His friend Christian Oldham is a colleague of mine and he was roped in too. Between us we raised £2,304.91 which I was delighted to hand over to Severn Hospice.”
