GREENHOUS DAF PROVIDE DAF XF 530 FTR TO MAJOR BRIDGE BUILDING FIRM

Shrewsbury provides the base for a prestigious bridge building company which caters for bespoke bridge solutions across many sectors in the UK and Europe.Beaver Bridges has built a reputation for high quality design, fabrication and installation of bridges for private customers including land owners and farmers, but also working with government agencies, councils and multinational construction firms.

Founded three years ago by Managing Director, Henry Beaver, the company has developed into a ‘one stop shop’ for customers with a range of talented, experienced staff at its disposal, and a track record of achievements in bridge construction, that resulted in the winning the Shropshire Star Excellence in Business Awards “Young Business of the Year” in 2017. This year they were crowned “Best New Business” in the 2018 Shropshire Chamber of Commerce Awards.

Henry is rightly delighted with the growth of his company saying: “We saw a niche in the market for a specialist bridge firm and we have taken on some excellent staff including chartered engineers, erectors and CAD designers. We will visit a site and discuss the specific needs of the customer, then design and put forward the plan for installation. This may include the removal of old structures, putting in foundations, creating roadways and paths and landscaping of the final site ready for use.

“We use quality manufacturers in the UK and Europe to build the structures and then we arrange for our own transport to the site and installation. We have our own operating licence and have just purchased a new DAF XF 530 FTR truck from Greenhous Commercials in Shrewsbury which has been used to transport bridge sections and plant on a step frame trailer to a project in Ireland.

“The DAF product is cost efficient, flexible and has a new Euro 6 engine which we had heard good things about. The cab comfort is also very important as our driver will be away from home for several days a week.”

With an increasing national reputation of delivering a problem solving, quality product and service, Beaver Bridges has recently opened an office in Glasgow. The types of project include a range of structures for pedestrian and vehicle access and other more specialist uses, making use of a variety of materials to suit the engineering needs and environmental sensitivities of the area where the bridge is to be constructed. The company has installed bespoke bridges from the Isle of Wight to Scotland.

Henry is proud of bridges, pontoons and construction site bridges. Beaver TW offers temporary works solutions including the hire of plant, specialist lifting equipment or road transport and ancillary equipment for his Shropshire roots and the company has now grown to include Beaver Bridge Hire offering a hire service for temporary bridge requirements, for example festival and event construction sites.

Shropshire is the birthplace of industry and Beaver Bridges are a leading example of innovation and engineering excellence that this county can be proud of.
