Paul Williams is Shrewsbury born and proud to work for Greenhous Commercials, based on March Way in Shrewsbury, where he has just celebrated his 25th year with the company. Paul (left) is pictured receiving his gold watch from Greenhous Commercials Managing Director, Kevin Comerford.
Paul went to Belvidere Boys School in the town before attending the Shrewsbury Tech College as it was then called, where he qualified as a cabinet maker. With jobs hard to find in that industry, he took up the opportunity to start out as a Sales Executive at Esso Petroleum Ltd in Telford selling fuel oils and bulk gas to the Commercial and Haulage industry.
In 1985, after 4 years with Esso, Paul moved to take up a role as Sales Executive for Volvo/Vauxhall Cars in Market Drayton in Shropshire. This time selling new Volvo and Vauxhall cars to Retail and Fleet customers.Vehicle sales was set to become his career path.
In 1989 an opening to work with trucks arose as a Sales
Executive with Hartshorne Volvo Trucks Ltd in Shrewsbury. This experience of
selling trucks to Retail and Fleet customers was to set the scene for Paul’s
extensive career with Greenhous.
Joining the leading Shropshire automotive business in 1994, Paul became a Sales Executive at the Greenhous DAF Ltd, and the experience he had gained in selling vehicles throughout his earlier career enabled him to quickly build a trusted reputation within the Fleet industry.Paul was awarded the status of UK National Fleet Salesman of the Year by DAF Trucks UK in 2005.
That recognition led to Paul being rewarded by Greenhous with promotion to the position of National Fleet Sales Manager. He now manages the selling of DAF trucks to large Fleet customers across the Midlands region.
Outside of work Paul has been an avid Shrewsbury Town supporter for 45 years and, (to relieve the stress of supporting his team!), he also enjoys golf and gardening and most of all spending time with his family.
